Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Description

OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will work closely with licensed physical therapists to home health environments. This role is essential in helping patients achieve their rehabilitation goals through effective treatment plans and therapeutic interventions.


A Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (LPTA) administers physical therapy to patients on an intermittent basis in their place of residence. This is performed in accordance with physician orders and plan of care under the direction and supervision of the Registered Physical Therapist (PT).


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides physician prescribed physical therapy under a plan of care established by the PT.
  • Performs all skilled procedures as ordered by physician and according to the plan of care
  • Instructs patients and family members in home programs and activities of daily living.
  • Prepares medical records, progress notes and updates care plans for each patient visit in a timely manner as per Agency policy.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Graduate from a two-year college level program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
  • Currently licensed, registered or certified in the state(s) in which practicing.
  • Two (2) years experience, preferred.
  • Acceptance of philosophy and goals of Agency.
  • Ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment.


Work Environment: Works indoors in Agency office and patient homes, and travels to/from patient homes.

Job Type: Contract, Per Diem

Pay: $35.00 - $55.00 per hour

Expected Hours: 8 - 10 per week

Medical Specialty: Home Health

Schedule: Day shift

Ability to Commute: Palm Beach County, FL (Required)

Work Location: On the Road
